MIRRORS FOR LARGE TELESCOPES

FOR ASTRONOMY

The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT)

  • With its primary mirror measuring 30 metres in diameter, TMT is one of the next-generation Extremely Large Telescopes (ELT). Likely to be located in Hawaii, TMT will be capable of observing everything from the nearest comets and asteroids to the most distant exoplanets and galaxies, leading to new discoveries in astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology.
  • CILAS make deformable mirrors for adaptative optics systems.
  • CILAS is proud to participate in the TMT project by supplying two SAM (Stack Array Mirror) technlogy deformable mirrors with piezoelectric actuators.
